2013 is roughly a month and a half in, and I've noticed a trend in my spending habits... DRESSES.
I can admit that I definitely have purchased more clothing than I already need in these past few weeks; I can sense a selling trip to Buffalo Exchange in the near future. But do I regret purchasing these feminine statement pieces? Absolutely not.
With dresses now taking up the most real estate in my closet, I'm wondering if this trend goes beyond me and is encompassing others as well? Could 2013 be 'The Year of the Dress' for all of us?
From NastyGal's sale section for only $15, I found this gem. It's called the 'Shadowplay Dress'.
A hi-lo maxi with the most daring top I own.
It is sold out now, but NastyGal usually has something similar to this.
Crushed velvet mini dress from American Apparel. $44
So black and so tight. A modern Morticia Addams' dream.
H&M has their version of the For Love and Lemons 'Lulu' dress. A little shorter, but a lot cheaper -- $14.95 versus $98. Plus I could never find my size in stock on the FL&L original.
This Alexander McQueen print inspired a-line dress is another H&M find. A $24 dress that goes perfect with an $8 pair of thigh highs and a $4 latte.
I've seen this type of dress on so many sites. I found this one at $20 in a cheap mall store called Foreign Exchange. Long story short, I'm glad I didn't buy an expensive one online because my chest is too small to make those 'tit straps' flattering. But throwing an oversized cardigan over it makes a damn good outfit; so I'm pleased.
